The glamorous Crystal Bar located in the newly refurbished Artists Bar at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
The brief was to gild the front of the bar and the back panels with the shelve.
Scope of work
The scope of our work at the Dorchester in 2022 included work in the Artists Bar and the Vesper Bar. In the Artists Bar Angel's team were gilding the Crystal Bar itself in an imitation gold, also known as Dutch metal.
A small team from Angels completed the works to the bar that had been built by the Beck factory team. A key to this design was that the client wished to see the squares of the metal leaf, meaning the team had to meticulously measure out and grid the bar, before sizing and carefully laying the leaf. The amount of work included the bar itself, as well as the back panels and shelving units. The bar then had a spray lacquer applied by Beck sprayers.
This glorious bar can be seen in the Artists Bar at the Dorchester Hotel in London, which is open to the public and guests of the hotel.
