The Arab Dome, Zanana, Lord Leighton's studio, main stair, Entrance & Lobby, back stair, Narcissus hall, Silk room & Dining room.
The artistic hub of Leighton House is the two-storey Arab Hall. Here you will see the finest example of gilding and elegant hand painted design work to the dome itself. Following extensive paint research and analysis Angel mixed the colours by hand to match the original scheme and applied approximately 550 books of 23.5 carat gold leaf to the dome.
The restoration work carried out at Leighton House Museum, the former home and studio of the nineteenth century British artist Lord Leighton, was recognised for its outstanding conservation achievements. In particular for the way the work had recaptured the original style and atmosphere of the remarkable interiors and as such was awarded the Europa Nostra Award and the RIBA Award. Angel are proud to have contributed to this effort.
